MMHS Presents The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

If you are looking for some entertainment at a fair price, this is the place to go.  The Murrieta Mesa Drama Company delivers again with their production of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  I have been to four productions at MMHS, and I am always impressed at the professionalism behind these productions.  Last night was no different.  Johnny Eberhardt, a sophmore, gave a fantastic performance as Ichanbod Crane.  The talent only began with Eberhardt.  To name a few:  Trevor Torres as Brom Bones, Michael Melendez as Baltus Van Tassel, Hannah Reinhart as Katrina Van Tassel and crowd pleaser Darby Connors as Grandmother.  

I was concerned that my seven year old would be scared.  Not true.  He loved it and was engaged by every minute of it.  There was even a part where Ichabod (Eberhardt) sings accapella as he strolls through the audience.  After he was done, my son turned to me and said, "Wow, he is a very good singer."  

The shows are all overseen by MMHS Drama Director Christopher Ryan, but the kids themselves play important roles onstage and behind the scenes.  And as I watch the plays I am always impressed with the professionalism within the productions.  Last night, there were some feedback glitches, and rather than panic or fumble lines these young actors kept it going never once breaking character.  But don't take my word for it, go and form your own opinion.  Also know that Mr. Ryan casts two full casts every play.   I saw the "Beta" cast, and I can imagine that the "Alpha" cast is equal in its cailiber.
