The Alamos Elementary School opened in 2004, keeping the name of a one-room schoolhouse that served children in rural…More French Valley for many years. Now it's the home of the Alamos Owls. Each morning on Owl TV, students broadcasters lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance and give announcements, awards and birthday greetings. The Owl Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed by teachers and parents, has been instrumental in keeping music, arts and in technology in the school.</p> <p>While located in Murrieta, Alamos Elementary is one of 17 elementary schools in the Temecula Valley Unified School District. The schools serves student in kindergarten through fifth grades. A child care center is also located on campus.</p>

A Chinese language class offered at the school is one of few in Riverside County.</p> <p>Students at Murrieta Mesa can choose from five college and careers pathways: business/culinary, engineering, liberal studies/education, medical and visual and performing arts. The option to enroll in Career Technical courses is also made available to students. </p> <p>The Murrieta Mesa Rams have quickly made a name for themselves through their involvement in the community, including establishing a partnership with the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce, which moved to the campus in July. In turn, the chamber agreed to help Mesa students prepare for entry into the workforce through internships, guest lecturers and a variety of other measures.</p> <p>In addition to the chamber, Mesa has student-enrichment partnerships with Hewlett-Packard, Inland Valley Symphony and Temecula Valley Master Chorale, and it is working toward an agreement with UC Riverside's School of Medicine.</p> <p>Principal Mary Walters' hope is that all students become involved in campus through athletics, clubs or groups.</p> <p>The motto is "Pursue your passion...leave a legacy!"</p>
