Red Flag Warning Issued for Inland Empire Through Tuesday

The red flag warning is expected to go into effect at midnight tonight and last through 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service's San Diego office.

Strong, gusty winds coupled with low humidities prompted the National Weather Service to issue a red flag warning Monday for the region, including Riverside County valleys.

During that time, critical fire weather conditions will affect the mountains, passes and valleys of western San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Daytime humidity values will fall below 15 percent, and winds are forecast to be 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 and 55 mph.

“These winds will increase late tonight and peak on Tuesday morning,” NWS stated. “Although these winds will gradually decrease through the day on Tuesday...very low humidity values will remain through the early evening.”
