Tickets on Sale for Plateau Garden Tour, Party

Featured are five garden and vineyard properties bordering the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve and the Cleveland National Forest, both just west of Murrieta.

Tickets are now on sale for the Santa Rosa Plateau Foundation's ninth annual Garden Tour and Garden Party, to be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 28. The event is the organization's primary benefit event.

The day includes a unique self-guided tour with a new Garden Party venue. Featured are five garden and vineyard properties bordering the Reserve and the Cleveland National Forest, both just west of Murrieta.

Focusing on how water is the source of all nature, the five diverse gardens feature very distinct landscapes that include a man-made lake, waterfalls, natural ponds, creeks, wildlife water features, stone water bridges and a California-friendly natural garden, said Ginger Greaves, SRPF president and founder, in a news release.

The garden tours also include “Meet the Gardner” workshops and a native plant sale showcasing California Native and Mediterranean climate plants, Greaves said.

In addition to the garden tours, this year’s event will include a “Garden Party” at Plateau Vineyards, Greaves said.

No ticket is required for the Garden Party at the Plateau Vineyards, 20170 Sierra Soto, Murrieta. Guests should follow the signs on Clinton Keith and Tenaja roads. The party will offer—for purchase—quiche, salads, sandwiches and desserts in the Garden Café from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; a Stone Brewing Co. craft beer garden; a Leonesse Cellars wine garden; live music by guitar and percussionists  Jimmy & Enrique; and a marketplace along with silent auction items.

Tickets are necessary for the Garden Tour and are $20 advance purchase and $25 the day of. The tour includes: entry to gardens; "Meet the Gardner" worksops; and access to a native plant sale.

A $120 VIP Limousine package may be chosen as the ultimate way to travel to the gardens and garden party. The VIP treatment includes a homemade, gourmet champagne breakfast at the 60-acre Tenaja Valley Inman Ranch; shared limo for the day, dining at the Garden Café at the Garden Party site, one drink ticket, a commemorative garden tour T-shirt and a one-day pass to a select Riverside County Park.

Advance tickets can be purchased in person with cash, check or credit card at Ace Hardware, 28811 Clinton Keith Road, Murrieta; Ace Hardware at 30733 Temecula Parkway, Temecula; or Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve Visitor Center, 39400 Clinton Keith Road, Murrieta. Cash or check is accepted for tickets at American Sanctuary, 42072 Fifth Street #105, Temecula.

Advance tickets can be purchased online with credit card or via PayPal at Srpf.org. They can also be purchased by phone by calling 800-369-4620, or by mail by sending a check to SRPF, P. O. Box 941, Murrieta, 92564.

To purchase tickets on the day of, go to the Hidden Valley Trail Head on the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve, which is located one and a half miles past the visitor center on Tenaja Road. Limousine packages will not be available for purchase the day of.
