Rotary Club of Murrieta Appoints New Leaders

Jeannette Hartmann, recently appointed as the club's president for 2011-2012, announces this year's officers and directors.

Jeannette Hartmann has begun her term as the 2011-2012 president of the Rotary Club of Murrieta.

With that she has announced the officers and directors who will serve the club and community alongside her.

Frank Donahoe will serve as president-elect and Patsy Orr as president-nominee, according to a news release. Bob Bryant is the immediate past president.

Secretary will be George Steele, with Donna Thomas-McNeely serving as treasurer. 

Club directors will be Craig Carper, foundation; Joe Lawlor, service projects; John Mailliard, membership; Mark Morgan, club administration; and Dennis McCarbery, public relations.

Club committee chairs are Phil Dotts, international service; Jann Gentry and Mike Shirley, community service; Jody Lawlor, new generations (youth) service; Dawn Pavlik and Ken Lonie, vocational service.

Don Phinney will serve as sergeant at arms.

Hartmann is set to give her "state of the club" address during the July 11 at in Murrieta.

Hartmann's goals for the club are "to continue its many positive local community and international projects, committing '1,000,000 acts of service' through the Rotary Club while looking for more opportunities to serve, have lots of fun while doing so, and achieving Rotary International's challenge to 'Reach Within to Embrace Humanity,'" according to the news release.

The Rotary Club of Murrieta was chartered on April 28, 1992, and serves the City of Murrieta and surrounding areas.

It is also involved in international projects in cooperation with Rotary International, which has as its ongoing theme "Service Above Self," said Dennis McCarbery, spokesperson for the Rotary Club of Murrieta.

Rotary began in 1905 in Chicago and serves the needs of local communities and locales around the world, McCarbery said.

It is one of the largest international humanitarian service organizations in the world, with 1.2 million members in some 32,000 clubs in more than 2000 countries and geographic areas, McCarbery said.
