Jazz Benefit Planned at Murrieta Public Library

Tickets are now on sale for the event, which will benefit the library's collection and programs.

A popular jazz duo is set to entertain Murrieta for a good cause next month.

Hart and Soul, featuring vocalist Jennifer Hart and pianist-arranger-composer Llew Matthews will perform for "Jazz at the Garden" from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at the , Eight Town Square.

The duo regularly performs at venues throughout Southern California, including Jazz at the Merc in Temecula. Hart sings standards, jazz, contemporary, pop, country and gospel in a style that is described as sensitive, understanding and with swing. Matthews is known as versatile and a virtuosic composer and pianist. He has been Nancy Wilson’s musical director since 1987.

The event is presented by the Murrieta Public Library Foundation and the exist to support and supplement the library’s services to the community.

Tickets are $50 for premium seating and $30 for concert seating and can be purchased at Murrietalibraryfoundation.org. Proceeds will benefit the library's collection and programs.

"The Library serves our entire community, from toddlers to adults, and is dedicated to providing exceptional services, collections and programs to all," said Roberta Fokken, spokesperson for the Friends of the Murrieta Library.

Event tickets and opportunity drawing tickets are also available at the Friends of the Murrieta Library bookstores: the at Eight Town Square outside the library entrance, or the Corner Bookstore at 39445 Los Alamos Road in the Murrieta Gateway Center.
