Heading into a live draft held Oct. 30 at South Bay BMW in Torrance, the coaches strategized to make sure they had a good balance on their teams.

“Not only are we looking for players that demonstrate great leadership on the field, we are also looking for players who represent themselves well off the field,” said Douglas.

Dunn won the toss and got the first pick of the morning. Dunn went all the way down south and drafted Alabama commit Bo Scarbrough from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Diamond Bar’s stand-out offensive guard Kammy Delp was the first pick for Coach Manual Douglas’ blue team.

Hoyd was the red team’s 13th pick and Edwards the 57th pick.

Mashack was the No. 48 pick for the blue team, while Bolton was the 24th picked.

“The coaches definitely expanded their reach as they picked players from all over the nation. Both the red and blue teams have wrapped up their roster for what looks to be two outstanding football squads,” according to the news release.
