Poly High Girls Are CIF Track Champions, Wilson Just Misses

Two Wilson girls' relay teams just miss qualifying for next weekend's CIF Master's Meet.

The Long Beach Poly girls track and field team turned in an impressive effort at Saturday's CIF-Southern Section Track and Field Championships at Cerritos College.

The Jackrabbits won the team title with a dominating 148 points in 16 team events. Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos High School and Eastvale Roosevelt High finished tied for second place with 33 points.

In the boys Division I meet, the Jackrabbits fell just short of a championship with 61 team points to Vista Murrieta's 65 points.

The Poly boys and girls also had their share of qualifiers for next week's two-day CIF Masters Meet, including both 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay teams.

Locally, Millikan High School senior Kody Robison and senior Dionbrae Norris qualified for Masters in the shot put and long jump respectfully.

The Long Beach Wilson girls competed in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays on Saturday. The 4 x 100 team of Revonna Taylor, Imani Pearson, Ashleigh Chambers and Alecia Robinson and 4 x 400 team of Taylor, Chambers, Ashley Peoples and Pearson took eighth overall in both races.

The Masters Meet begins Friday and the top five finishers in each event will advance to the CIF State Meet in Clovis.
