While other area playoff games were contested on muddy fields, Vista Murrieta's boys were able to control the ball from start to finish unscathed from this week's rains on their artificial turf.
Both teams handily beat their first-round opponents last Friday in round one of CIF-Southern Section Inland Division playoffs: Charter Oak was victorious over Yucaipa, 53-33, while Vista Murrieta sent Los Osos packing, 57-14.
That confidence for the visitors from Covina waned as Vista Murrieta scored fast and long, making the Chargers' drive home from the quarterfinal playoff that much longer.
