Construction has begun on an 11.5-acre sports park in the Spencer's Crossing neighborhood of unincorporated Murrieta.
Highlights of the sports park, which is scheduled to open this fall, include two baseball fields, a soccer field, a basketball court, a children’s play area and a concession stand, according to a news release. All fields will be lighted.
Located just outside Murrieta city limits in what is known as the French Valley area, Spencer's Crossing is a master-planned community developed by Brookfield Residential (Los Angeles) LP, a member of Brookfield Residential Properties Inc. With its parks and trails, the community has been designed for those with an active lifestyle, the news release stated.
“Our philosophy is to develop master-planned environments where neighbors become friends and children can play—and the sports park at Spencer’s Crossing will further bring the residents of Murrieta together,” said Dennis Chapman, vice president of Brookfield Residential.
“The beginning of construction on this exciting addition to the community marks an important milestone and its anticipated completion will generate a wonderful sense of progress and optimism for this master plan. The development of this park at Spencer’s Crossing is significant and terrific news for residents and prospective Spencer’s Crossing homebuyers alike.”
