Murrieta's Rickie Fowler Atop Bridgestone Leaderboard

The 2007 graduate of Murrieta Valley High School comes out ahead in the top three for the second day in the four-day Bridgestone Invitational, inching out names such as Tiger Woods.

Murrieta Valley High School alumnus Rickie Fowler was part of a three-way tie for first place Friday at the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.

Fowler, who was named the 2010 Rookie of the Year for the PGA tour, is still seeking his first professional win.

The 22-year-old scored a 6-under par 64 on the Firestone Country Club South Course Friday, holing out for an eagle on No. 3 in a wild round, according to the Associated Press.

He also shot seven birdies, hitting par on five holes and bogeying four holes.

Rounding out the trio at the top Friday were Adam Scott, who was the lone leader until a bogey on his final hole made him settle for a 70, according to AP.

Also tied for the lead was Ryan Moore, who had a 66, AP reported.

Tiger Woods lagged with a 1-over 71.

Fowler secured an 8-under par so far for the four-day tournament, set to end Sunday.

The tournament continues Saturday and Sunday on CBS Sports.
