Murrieta's 'Battle of the Mascots' Dodgeball Tournament Set for April 19

Teams consisting of five to six players—preferably from the same high school—are sought.

The City of Murrieta’s Youth Advisory Committee is committed to offering unique recreation and social activities to the youth in Murrieta. This year’s second annual Battle of the Mascots dodge ball tournament is sure to fit the bill on an exciting event and the YAC is enthused to host it. What better ways to spend a Friday night than beaming your friends with dodge balls, listening to a deejay play some music, showing off a goofy costume and winning awards?

“Battle of the Mascots” will be held from  5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, April 19 under the lights of Los Alamos Hills Sports Park's football fields, 36700 Ruth Ellen Way. All area youth are invited to participate; however, they must have a valid and current high school ID to play. Teams can be formed by any individuals from any schools; it is encouraged that teams consist of members from the same school to have a true “Battle of the Mascots” competition.

The fee to participate is $5 per person with teams consisting of five to six players. Early registration discounts are available for teams; call for more info. Awards will be given to the winning team. There will also be a costume contest with individual and team awards given out for winners. Registrations will be taken at the tournament or teams can register early for a team discounted rate.
