Murrieta Born Golfer Fowler Ties at Tourney

UPDATE: 2:02 p.m.: We heard a rumor that there was a group of young ladies who were dressed in Sunday orange, following Fowler. We found them by the eighth hole and saw their shirts spell out R-I-C-K-I-E! We just uploaded a far away photo of them...you'll have to wait for the video piece to really see them.

UPDATE: 1:29 p.m.: Caught up with Mickelson at the eight hole and then waited to watch Murrieta's Rickie Fowler putt in the group following Phil. Fowler's got quite a group of fans, all wearing their "Sunday orange" to match the golfer. Fowler is currently tied for 67th. Mickelson ... tied for second.

Murrieta's own Rickie Fowler Sunday held on for a spot on the final day of the Northern Trust Open at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, while Phil Mickelson of San Diego nested in the top slot.

On Sunday morning, Murrieta-born golfer Rickie Fowler was tied for 56th, as was Long Beach's John Mallinger. Later in the morning, Fowler was tied for 63rd.
