Local Elks' Hoop Shoot Winners Compete at Next Level

Temecula students Grayse FaAsua and Donavan Cox won first-place in the Elks Southern California Shoot-Out, qualifying them to move on to the regional competition.

Recently the Hoop Shoot winners from the Temecula Valley Elks Lodge and their families traveled to Calimesa to the Elks Southern California Shoot-Out. 

The six winners who competed in Calimesa were Donavan Cox; Grayse FaAsua; Sofia Inzunza; Sabrina Inzunza; Isaiah Singh and Ethan Topacio. All six of their “hoop-shooters” made the lodge proud by their performance.

Isaiah Singh, 3rd place (8-9) boys from Rail Ranch Elementary, Murrieta

Ethan Topacio, 2nd place (10-11) boys from Nicolas Valley Elementary, Temecula

Grayse FaAsua, 1st place (10-11) girls from Nicolas Valley Elementary, Temecula

Donavan Cox, 1st place (12-13) boys from James L. Day Middle School, Temecula

Sofia Inzunza and her sister Sabrina Inzunza (St. Jeanne de Lestonnac School, Temecula) also participated in the event and did an outstanding job.

The first-place Calimesa winners, Grayse FaAsua and Donavan Cox, will advance to the regional competition to be held in Paramount.
