HS Girls Volleyball: Rams Focus On Consistency To Bring Some Heat

Murrieta Mesa looks to improve all aspects of its game.

Murrieta Mesa's 2012 girls volleyball season was a year of transition for the Rams. Coach Bonnee Burdine-Arscott and her new coaching staff broke down and rebuilt the program.

“It’s tough being in this league. Every roster in the Southwestern League is filled with club players and tons of talent” said Burdine-Arscott.

“We had a young team last year with only five seniors, I feel that we have matured this season and I am looking forward to the challenges that face us."

The Rams were 6-18 and winless in league play. The league’s youngest program is headed for its fourth year of Southwestern action and are ready for a break out season.

“The 2013 season presents a new and exciting task. Even though we are the definite underdog in the league, we are looking to be competitive and bring some heat to every match,” Burdine-Arscott said.

“We are super excited about our incoming class, we are getting some much valued height and talent to build our program.”

Murrieta Mesa is led by Seniors Dylan Branch and Nicole Holbrook. The Rams are looking to keep improving at all levels, and build the consistency to compete effectively and efficiently in league play.

“Our goal for this year is to rise to the challenges placed before us and execute. The Rams will bring the heat and pressure every time we step onto the court,” Burdine-Arscott said.

“Everyone will see what Ram pride means this year.”

Rams Youth Summer Camp

The Rams are hosting a youth summer camp starting on Monday, July 29 through the 31. The camp is designed for children ages 8-12. The camp will be held at the Murrieta Mesa gym.

The program has been designed to help develop fundamental volleyball skills including serving, passing, setting and hitting.

The tuition price of $40 includes coaching, a daily snack and a camp T-shirt.

Registration can be paid directly to the bookkeeper on the Mesa campus by cash or through Mesa’s web store link: http://webstores.activenetwork.com/school-software/adult_ed_mmhs_summer/
