HOOP SHOOT: Winners in Temecula Valley Elks Contest Announced
Temecula and Murrieta schools participated in the event and sent their first-, second- and third-place winners to the Temecula Valley Elks' competition.
The Temecula Valley Elks recently held their annual “Hoop Shoot” at the Temecula Recreation Center.
Temecula and Murrieta schools participated in the event and sent their first-, second- and third-place winners to the Temecula Valley Elks’ competition. Each young athlete was given the opportunity to shoot 25 free throws. They ranged in age from 8 to 13 years of age.

The first-place winners will now advance to the District Hoop Shoot to be held Jan. 11, 2014. After the District Contest, the winners will advance to the California State Competition and the State winners will advance to the National Competition.
The Temecula Elks honored the first-place winners at a recent “Family Night” dinner. The six winners were each presented a T-shirt that had “Elks Hoop Shoot” printed on the shirts, along with their name. They will wear the shirts at the Southeast District Hoop Shoot that will take place at the Mesa View Middle School Gymnasium in Calimesa.
