Former Vista Murrieta Track Star to Compete for State Title
Chris Navarro will compete Saturday in the California Community College Athletic Association State Track and Field Championships at Cerritos College.
Chris Navarro, a 2010 graduate of , is set to compete for a collegiate state track and field title Saturday.
After graduating from Vista Murrieta, Navarro went on to attend Riverside Community College. He will represent RCC when he vies for the state title in 110-meter high hurdles Saturday at the California Community College Athletic Association State Track and Field Championships at Cerritos College.
Leading up to the state competition, Navarro took first place in the 110 during the Southern California Regional Championships held May 12 at San Diego Mesa College, pulling off a 14.60-second finish.

When Navarro hits the Cerritos track Saturday, it won't be his first visit. It was on that same field in 2010 that he helped Vista Murrieta win its first CIF Southern Section Division 1 Track and Field Championship.
Also in 2010, Navarro competed in the Nike Track Nationals, where he came in second in the 110 in 14.43 seconds.
