Fall Football Season Begins for AYF's Murrieta Rams

Murrieta Rams American Youth Football & Cheer League aims to prepare youth for their competitive high school years.

News release:

The Murrieta Rams American Youth Football & Cheer league kicked off their practices for 2013 season. This is the third season for the association and they're up to the challenge!

Families lined up at 5 p.m. on Monday, anticipating the long check-in lines eager to get through the process so they could head to the practice field. The Murrieta Rams practice and play their home games at Murrieta Mesa High School.

Coach Justin Schaeffer, head coach for the high school's varsity football team, attended the youth teams parent meeting last Wednesday evening and made the parents feel apart of their family by stating, "This your home, get comfortable."

This season the Rams are a part of the nationally ranked San Diego Youth Football & Cheer conference and will play teams in the northern division with a few non-divisional games.

The Murrieta Rams is grade based with unlimited weight so players of all sizes have the opportunity to play football; participants are prepared for their high school years of competitive football.

This year the Rams introduced a new division called tiny mites for first- and second-grade tackle players. This division will allow interested tackle players to learn and begin the fundamental stages of football at a early age.
