Girls Basketball: Vista Murrieta Crushes Temecula Valley 83-37

The Broncos are 6-0 and on top of the Southwestern League standings.

Vista Murrieta let it be known Friday night that they are serious about dethroning the Nighthawks as Southwestern League Champions. The Broncos have won the league crown once, back in the 2007 season when they went 10-0.

The unbeaten Broncos totally dominated the game. Vista Murrieta was led by Freshman Jaelyn Brown who set career highs in points and rebounds. She ended up with 29 points, 17 rebounds, 6 steals, 3 assists and 4 turnovers.

The Golden Bears fell behind fast in the first period and could not recover. Brown and her teammates scored mercilessly and shut down Temecula Valley’s offense as they took a 34-17 lead at halftime.

Leitasi Cravens scored a season high 12 points while Yuendie Guridi had 11 and Brittney Reed 10. Tatiana Navarro recorded nine points as Serafina Maulupe and Alexis Rivas each had five, while Alexis Marshall scored two for the Broncos.

Vista Murrieta jumped all over Temecula Valley in the second half. The Broncos scored a staggering 49- points while holding the Golden Bears to 20. Final score Broncos 83 Temecula Valley 37.

Jaelyn Brown was named player of the game by Coach Chris Jones.

The first-place Broncos will host the Wolfpack this Wednesday at 7 p.m. before their showdown with Murrieta Valley Friday night. Great Oak is currently 2-4 in league play.

The Nighthawks will play the Murrieta Mesa Rams Wednesday. The Rams lost to Chaparral 50-37 last night. Murrieta Mesa is 0-6 in league play and is looking for their first ever league wins against the Nighthawks.

All games start at 7 p.m. Come out and support your favorite school and catch some exciting basketball.

Hey Maggie, I don't get a chance to talk to the help desk but the ad has gone away for now. I justRead More made a comment on one of Carl Petersons blogs and now the comment has disappeared and no trace of it in my comment history. Are comments still pending proof reading before they post? Was it taken down by the blog author? I realize you guys have made a lot of changes so I'm still not sure if there are bugs being worked out or if some thing else is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
