Vista Murrieta Home Against Cathedral Catholic

Vista Murrieta game against Cathedral Catholic to be televised by Fox Sports Prime Ticket

Coach Coley Candaele and his top-ranked defending CIF champs will be on television for the second week in a row as the Broncos play host to the Dons from Cathedral Catholic High School. The Dons are currently 2-1 and ranked 25th in the State.

Coach Sean Doyle is looking to upset Vista Murrieta, ranked third in the state and ninth in the nation. The Dons will have their hands full tonight, facing a team that overwhelmed a highly-rated Redlands East Valley team 59-14 last Friday.

Cathedral is led by quarterback Garrett Bogart. Key running backs are Chris Moliga and Tony Johnson. Bogart’s favorite receivers are Xavier Williams and Theo Hardson. The Dons are coming off a hard fought 16-9 upset win over Helix.

Players to watch on the Dons defensive side of the ball are Tailor Escoldi and Linebackers Treshon Poumele and Xavier Ulutu. Defensive back Parker Price had three interceptions against Helix.

Quarterback Nick Stevens and the Broncos have been unstoppable this year. Vista Murrieta averages 196 yards passing, 170 yards rushing and 48.3 points a game. Keiron Long is the leading Bronco running back with 208 yards on 31 carries.

Su’a Cravens, Randy Beggs, Darrel Denby and Jamie Nunley have been Stevens’ primary receivers this year. Kicker Aaron Ruth has been very effective with 19 PATs and two field goals.

The Bronco Defense has been humbling opponents. Cravens has been outstanding on both sides of the ball. Treshon Brougton and Bryce Smith are the anchors, while Grant Cleary, Tyler Cook, Ricardo Mermea and Tyler Van Dyk have solidified the Broncos' punishing defense.

Game time is 7 p.m. tonight. The Broncos are expecting another full house this evening so get there early to get the best parking. Come out and support Vista Murrieta’s drive towards another CIF playoff berth.

The game will be aired at 10:30 p.m. Friday on Fox Sports Prime Ticket HD.
