The Nighthawks wasted no time putting points on the board, beginning with a Alex Montion 12-yard TD reception from Andrew Blake just a couple of minutes into the game Friday night.
They would lead 14-0 at the end of the first quarter and 21-0 at halftime. Final score was 49-0 Murrieta Valley.
A moment of silence was held at halftime in memory of two recent graduates who lost their lives in service to our country. Eric Williams was killed July 23, 2012 serving in Afghanistan.
U.S. Army Sgt. Clinton K. Ruiz of Murrieta, 22, was killed Oct. 25 when his unit was attacked by small arms fire in Khas Uruzgan, Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan. A memorial service for Sgt. Ruiz was scheduled for 11 a.m. today (Saturday).
Most of the Nighthawk starters were in the game at the start of the third quarter where 21 more points were scored in the frame to make it 42-0. Many reserve players saw action.
