Nighthawk Basketball Pulls Highest GPA in County

The team excelled on the court and in the classroom, earning a combined 3.88 GPA.

Not only were they the Southwestern League champions and ranked fifth out of 40 in their division, the 's varsity boy's basketball team earned the highest GPA in Riverside County this school year.

Combined they earned a 3.88 GPA, with nine players pulling GPAs that were higher than 4.0.

The team was recognized by the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) Thursday during a Murrieta Valley Unified School District board meeting.

According to RCOE, the team has reached this achievement before. That was in 2005 when its combined GPA was 3.5.

The team ended its 2010-2011 season 10-0 in league and 24-4 in Division 1AA.
