Murrieta School Board Candidate Forum Set for Oct. 10

The Murrieta School Board Candidate Forum will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Thompson Middle School.

Five candidates for three spots on the Murrieta Valley Unified School District governing board are scheduled to speak during a public forum.

The Murrieta School Board Candidate Forum will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 in the multipurpose room at Thompson Middle School, 24040 Hayes Ave., Murrieta.

Candidates for a four-year term on the board include incumbents Ken Dickson, Margi Wray and Paul Diffley, as well as newcomers Gregory Lee and Barbara Muir.

All are scheduled to attend the forum, according to the Murrieta Teachers Association Political Action Committee, which is sponsoring the event.

Moderating the forum will be Lottie Fox, a national and state coach for the League of Women Voters and past president of League of Women Voters Southwest Riverside County.

"I will be representing/co-sponsoring this event in my League capacity," Fox told Patch in an email. "I continue to be active throughout the county in voter service activities as moderator, panelist, or pros and cons speaker on statewide ballot measures."

The format will include opening and closing remarks, prepared question reponses from the candidates, and an audience question and answer session.
