Murrieta Students Run 26 Miles In Support of Boston Marathon

The following was submitted for publication by Bill Aviles: 

Students of the Murrieta Valley High School Marine Corp Junior ROTC participated in a 26 mile run in support of the participants and the City of Boston Marathon this week.

A total of 22 students ran a 1 mile relay course around the campus 26 times on Monday. Carrying the United States and Marine Corp flag, the students wanted to show support.

The event was developed and implemented by the students themselves.

The purpose of the JROTC program is to developing citizenship and patriotism, developing self-reliance and responsiveness to all authority, developing an appreciation of the importance of physical fitness.
