Bronco Boys Basketball Takes on Citrus Hill in 'Big Daddy'

Vista Murrieta will face the high-flying Hawks Friday in the third round of the Big Daddy Basketball Tournament at Perris Citrus Hill High School.

Coach Andy Rucker’s Broncos started the season fast and furious winning their season opener 73-34 over Moreno Valley in the Big Daddy Basketball Tournament.

The games are being played this week on the campuses of Citrus Hill and Notre Dame high schools.

In round two, Vista Murrieta ran into a tough Panther defensive press and fell to Corona 62-41.

Coach Rucker's team is not playing at full strength yet; the Broncos have had five varsity players out due their participation in the CIF-SS Inland Division Football Championship game this evening.

Nevertheless, Vista Murrieta has played on and looks to smack the feathers off the Hawks Friday.

Anthony White led the Broncos in points with 12 and 10 rebounds against Corona. Jeremy Zorotovich scored eight points and snagged nine rebounds while freshman Austin Beech had nine points. Spencer Benson added eight points and Damon Dubots and Peter Manu had two apiece.

In other Big Daddy action Friday, Murrieta Valley will play Ramona High School while unbeaten Mesa Murrieta will face Perris.
