Boys Basketball: Vista Murrieta Faces Morse in Mt. Miguel Invitational

Vista Murrieta boys basketball was 1-1 heading into Wednesday in the Mt. Miguel Invitational Basketball Tournament.

Vista Murrieta got off to a fast start, winning its opening game Monday night in the Mt. Miguel Invitational basketball tournament.

The Broncos beat Ramona High School 77-62 behind the hot shooting of Anthony White who racked up a season high 28 points against the Bulldogs.

Freshman Austin Beech scored 14; Spencer Benson added 13 and Jeremy Zorotovich had 10 points for the Broncos. Greg Hoyd also scored a basket against the Bulldogs.

In the second round of the tournament, the Broncos played into overtime to fall 57-52 in a thriller to San Diego High School.

Vista Murrieta was led by Zorotovich who had 19 points against the Cavers.

Teammates Evan Roberts added nine, Spencer Benson seven, Anthony White six, and Jacob Perry four. Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were Peter Manu with three points and Jamie Nunley and Austin Beech, who each added two.

Coach Andy Rucker's Broncos were scheduled Wednesday to face Morse High. The Tigers were 1-2 in the tournament heading into Wednesday's game.
