Vista Murrieta Threat: Specifics Please

Two teens arrested in violent plot against Vista Murrieta High School

Two Vista Murrieta High School 15-year-olds were arrested today in an unspecified murder plot against "the school," which I would assume included students and/or faculty members.  At this juncture, details are sparse, aside from the FBI being involved, and that the threat was very "serious."

I believe it is extremely critical that more specific details are made available to the student body and their parents, as well as the community at large.  I'm certain there are numerous parents who will want to both engage in dialog with their teens about this threat and come to some sort of understanding as to the what, how's, and why's.

We need to know how in depth these plans were, how they were hatched out without either set of parents noticing, if firearms were involved in the plans--and if so, how they would have access to them. Were there friends of these teens who had any knowledge of the plans?  Were they bullied? Are they involved in illicit drug use or gangs? Do they have prior discipline problems? And for goodness sake, what is going on in their homes?  At the very least, some sort of insight so parents and other adults can garner some key learnings on what to look for, and perhaps what was "missed" on this.

It is nothing short of a miracle that a tragedy was avoided.  Authorities on the East Coast were notified of this plot by somebody who was in an anonymous online conversation with one of the 15-year-olds.  This person, by doing the right thing, and going to police--even though it did not involve his/her community--should be regarded as a hero.  It would be interesting to know what online environment they were communicating on, since it was anonymous, and what exactly was said. Again--SPECIFICS that would enable a better understanding of how to prevent needless tragedies.
