6 Candidates Vying for 2 Murrieta City Council Seats

A final list of candidates vying for two seats on Murrieta City Council was released today.

Out of 10 people who had intentions of running for Murrieta City Council, six candidates have qualified to run for two seats.

A final list of candidates set to appear on the Nov. 6 ballot was released Wednesday by City Clerk Kay Vinson, and includes:

—Incumbent , 43, who is seeking a second term;

—Real estate broker , 52;

—Military Intelligence Analyst Harry Ramos, 35;

—Teacher and labor union president Paul Clay, 54;

—Real estate speculator Dan Strick, 27; and

—Customer service assistant David Mueting, 41.

Other potential candidates who pulled papers but did not complete the process to become qualified included: former Temecula city manager Shawn Nelson, martial artist and nonprofit founder Victor Marx, and John Paul Serbin.

Additionally, Gary Stein, a discharged Marine sergeant, was ineligible when it was discovered he lived outside of Murrieta city limits.
