Signs Ask Residents to Contact Murrieta Mayor

Banners installed throughout Murrieta last week ask residents to contact Murrieta Mayor Randon Lane.

It is not campaign season but that is not stopping Murrieta Mayor Randon Lane from putting up signs around town.

Motorists may have noticed the banners, hung in various spots including on Murrieta Hot Springs Road and on Clinton Keith Road. "Murrieta Mayor Randon Lane wants your feedback," the signs say. Listed are his cell phone number and email address.

The mayor said since putting the signs out last week, he has already begun getting calls and emails.

"We've had some really positive feedback, and some concerns. What is really interesting about the average Murrieta citizen is that they have a lot of good things to say," Lane said.

The mayor said he has advocated for an approachable government since his campaign days.

"My No. 1 focus has been better communication. I challenge any elected official to it," Lane said.

"We get elected to serve the community, so why aren't we doing this--giving people the opportunity to have more direct contact with those they've elected to office."
