SAT Prep Scheduled at Murrieta Public Library

The free practice test will take place Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Murrieta Public Library. Results and test tips will be provided in a follow-up workshop on Monday, Sept. 19.

High school students nervous about taking the SAT test can chase away those jitters.

Ninth- through 12th-graders are invited to take advantage of a free practice SAT test and follow-up workshop to be offered Sept. 10 at the Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions.

Kaplan will administer the practice SAT test free of charge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Murrieta Public Library Community Room.

"Kaplan will proctor the simulated SAT examination for students to learn what they can expect on the college admission test," said Laura Davis, adult and young adult services librarian.

Then from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m, Monday, Sept. 19, parents and students are invited to pick up the test results. During the workshop, Kaplan will answer any questions students and parents have regarding the SAT test, Davis said.

Kaplan will also explain the test results and provide SAT test strategies, including ways to take advantage of the test format to maximize efficiency on the exam, Davis said.

Students must pre-register for this test by Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Murrieta Public Library Reference Desk or by calling 951-304-2665. The library is located at Eight Town Square, off of Adams Avenue south of Kalmia Street.

Those taking the test must bring two sharpened No. 2 pencils and a calculator, Davis advised.
