Public Invited to Learn About Current Drug Trends Among Youth
Open to the public, the Regional Family, Youth and Health Task Force meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at Temecula Civic Center.
Do you have teenagers or children? Parents from cities and school districts across Southwest Riverside County are encouraged to attend this informative public meeting to learn about modern-day drugs that our kids are exposed to in today’s world.
The Keynote Speaker is Rocky Hill, owner of Hill Alcohol and Drug Treatment, who has served the Southwest Riverside County region since January 1986. Mr. Hill will share insight about current drug and alcohol use and abuse for the region that may be surprising to parents who are unaware.
He stated, “Heroin is cheap, pure and readily accessible. Meth has taken a backseat but not too far back on the bus. The synergistic nature of opiate addiction is that with every person who gets addicted, you get a new dealer who has to find a way to afford his own use.”
