Paving Underway on Margarita in Murrieta

The project is among six others the City of Murrieta is funding.

Motorists will experience lane closures on Margarita Road between Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Date Street due to asphalt overlay.

The project is one of six undertaken in recent weeks by the City of Murrieta, paid for with capital improvement funds. The work includes stripping, or grinding the old asphalt--which can create loose gravel--and replacing it with new asphalt.

Last week, Murrieta Hot Springs Road was paved between Interstate 215 and Whitewood. The same also took place on Clinton Keith Road west of Interstate 215.

The lane closures on Margarita Road are in effect Thursday and Friday, Aug. 4 and 5, according to Mike Brooks, public works maintenance manager.

"We will also be paving two short sections of Via Princesa (East) on both sides of Murrieta Hot Springs Road," Brooks said.
