Murrieta Valley Unified to Host Military Education Expo

The free event will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

Murrieta Valley Unified School District is inviting students and their families from across Southwest Riverside County to a free Military Education Expo on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

The event—which will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Murrieta Mesa High School Performing Arts Center—will feature panels covering topics of interest to military families including cycles of deployment, the availability of free resources available to military families and how military families can afford to send their children to college with the Post 9/11 transferability GI Bill.

The panel of presenters will include school liaison officers from the United States Marine Corps and United States Navy and Family Forces, FOCUS, Exceptional Families Programs, Fleet and Family Program, Marine Family Program and the Veterans Administration.

“We are pleased to host this Military Education Expo to bring vital information and services offered by the various branches of the military to local military families," said Bill Olien, who is chairing the district's Military Support Advisory Committee.

Organizers will also provide free child care for children ages 2 and up.
