June 5 Primary Election: Who Is Running?

The races are shaping up, and the list of candidates has grown.

Time is ticking! Anyone interested in running for an office on the June 5 primary election ballot must file papers for candidacy by 5 p.m. Friday.

As of March 7, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters published the following updated candidates’ list for the 67th State Assembly District (which includes Lake Elsinore and Wildomar):

NOTE: The race for the 67th State Assembly District currently includes an all-Republican field. According to a March 8 update list from the Riverside County Registrar of Voters, the 67th has 87,824 registered Republican voters; 54,630 registered Democrats; 36,344 who have registered with no political preference; and 6,389 registered American Independents. Registered voters in other political parties number fewer than 3,000 total in the 67th.

As of March 7, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters published the following updated candidates’ list for the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, 3rd  District (which includes Murrieta, Temecula, Winchester, Canyon Lake, Menifee, Hemet, San Jacinto and Temecula Wine Country; candidates are not required to state a political party affiliation for this seat):
