Govt. Watch: Anderson Appointed to Seven Committees

Murrieta's state senator will vice-chair the Public Safety and Government Organization Committee along with others.

Murrieta’s state senator, Joel Anderson, R-El Cajon, was appointed to seven new committees.

He’s set to serve as the vice-chair of the Public Safety and Governmental Organization committee. He’ll also serve on the Budget and Fiscal Review Committee, the Health Committee, the Insurance Committee, the Joint Legislative Audit Committee and the Budget Subcommittee, he announced last week.

The senator aims to make sure no committee decision will affect on job creation. “Californians are experiencing a sky-high unemployment rate,” he said in an e-mailed statement. “No legislative proposal should be passed out of committees if it has a negative impact on private sector job creation.”

He thinks the government squanders funds, a sentiment echoing recent statements by Murrieta’s congressman, Darrell Issa.

“Are taxpayers getting a proper return on the money they entrust to government?” asked Anderson in the statement. “In many cases, no, and it’s time for major changes to bureaucracies that waste tax dollars and cost us jobs.”
