President Obama and China's top leader won't be the only political dignitaries coming to Riverside County on Friday.  Governor Jerry Brown has announced that he'll also come to town as the president meets with his Chinese counterpart.

Brown's office announced Thursday that he plans on greeting Obama when he flies into Palm Springs International Airport.  He'll then meet with President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China on Saturday.

"The Governor’s meeting with President Xi follows a year and a half of significant diplomatic and business exchanges between California and China, including the Governor’s Trade and Investment Mission to China in April and meetings with President Xi during his visit to California as then-Vice President of China last February," a press statement from the governor's office stated.

Though Jinping will be meeting with Obama at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage, his appointment with the governor will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells.

During the Trade and Investment Mission, Brown met with top Chinese officials and signed what his office said were the first-ever agreements between a state-like entity and Chinese ministries. Brown also opened the California-China Office of Trade and Investment in Shanghai, spoke about on climate change at Tsinghua University in Beijing, met with the U.S. ambassador to China at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing and spoke at forums hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce-South China and the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing.
