Camp Pendleton-Based Murrieta Marine Killed in Afghanistan
Master Sgt. Scott E. Pruitt, a resident of Murrieta who hailed from Gautier, Miss., was killed Saturday.
The Pentagon today released the name of a 38-year-old Murrieta resident and Camp Pendleton-based Marine who was killed in combat last week in Afghanistan.
Master Sgt. Scott E. Pruitt, who hailed originally from Gautier, Miss., died in Helmand Province on Saturday, according to the Department of Defense.
Pruitt was a member of I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force.

Pruitt's Facebook page lists Murrieta as his city of residence. On Valentine's Day he used the social media site to announce his engagement.
