Woman Driving Jaguar Arrested On Suspicion Of Being Cocaine Smuggler

The woman was turned over to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and the car was seized by the U.S. Border Patrol.

A woman driving a Jaguar has been arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol on suspicion of being a cocaine smuggler, the agency has announced.

The 29-year-old woman driving a maroon 2003 Jaguar X-Type was nabbed July 17 around 6 p.m. by agents working near Murrieta at the 15 Freeway.

The U.S. citizen “admitted that she was getting paid to deliver a package with unknown contents,” according to a news release Tuesday from the U.S. Border Patrol.

A Border Patrol K-9 team inspected the Jaguar and agents found “15 bricks of cocaine hidden in a cardboard box inside the trunk,” the news release stated. 

The bundles weighed 37.37 pounds and had an estimated street value of $411,070, according to the news release.
