Woman Accused of Embezzling From Murrieta Car Wash

Liliana Stacks, 35, is accused of stealing $5,000 while she worked at Offshore Auto Spa.

A Murrieta woman is facing charges of embezzling from a Murrieta car wash.

Liliana Stacks, 35, allegedly took $5,000 while she worked at Offshore Auto Spa at 40452 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, according to Murrieta police Lt. Tony Conrad.

The alleged theft took place May 1, according to court records, but Stacks was not arrested until Aug. 16 when the employer called Murrieta police to report it.

"The caller stated the employee had taken $5,000 from the business," Conrad said. "She was put in a position of trust and was taking money off the top of the business."

Responding investigators decided there was sufficient cause to arrest Stacks, who was on shift the day she was taken into custody, according to Conrad.

The district attorney's office brought a felony charge against Stacks Sept. 12 in the case, according to court documents.

Currently out on bail, Stacks is set to be arraigned Oct. 13.
