Two Injured When Van, Motorcycle Crash

Two people riding a motorcycle suffered mild to moderate injuries, fire officials said.

Two people suffered injuries tonight in Murrieta when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a van.

The crash happened at 5:11 p.m. on Jackson Avenue between California Oaks Road and Avenida Florita, and involved the motorcyle and a red Dodge minivan.

An adult male who was driving the motorcycle and his female passenger, a minor, were both transported to Inland Valley Medical Center with mild to moderate injuries, according to Matt Corelli, spokesperson for the Murrieta Fire Department.

Corelli said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident, and that both people on the motorcyle were wearing helmets and protective gear.

Northbound Jackson Avenue was closed for a period.

The female driver of the van was not injured.

No details of who may have been at fault in the accident were available at time of publication.
