Two Injured In Murrieta Crash

The crash was reported shortly before 3:45 p.m. on Madison Ave at the Lowe's shopping center entrance, according to California Highway Patrol.

A crash today injured two motorists at the entrance to a Lowe's shopping center in Murrieta, the CHP reported.

The crash was reported on Madison Avenue shortly before 3:45 p.m.

Witnesses on scene said that a white Hyundai Elantra did not stop for a red light and plowed into the back of a Toyota 4runner.

“We were stopped at the light,” said William Schneider, 66, of Murrieta.

“I heard a big crash and saw the 4Runner lunge forward as it was hit from behind.”

The women drivers of both vehicles were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to Murrieta Fire Captain Todd Bradstreet.

“While investigating the traffic collision, alcohol or drugs don’t seem to be a factor,” said Murrieta Police Officer Derek Gerber.
