Two Injured in Head On Crash

Traffic back to normal on Murrieta Hot Springs Road following rescue

A head-on crash on Murrieta Hot Springs Road has sent two people to Inland Valley Medical Center with what are being described as moderate injuries.   

The crash between a grey four-door Saab and a white GMC Denali happened near 40165 Murrieta Hot Springs Road at about 5:15 Saturday evening.  Firefighters had to use the ‘jaws of life’ to rescue one of the victims and pull them to safety.  It was unclear from which vehicle the rescue occurred. 

According to Murrieta Fire Captain Richard Curran, there were no passengers in either vehicle.

Traffic on Murrieta Hot Springs Road was delayed and funneled to one lane for over an hour following the accident. 

Police are investigating the crash, and have not released any further information.
