Two-Car Crash Causes Power Outage; One Arrested

The accident occurred at about 11:50 p.m. At least one of the drivers was suspected of drinking and driving.

A two-car crash caused an electrical wire to snap in Murrieta late Friday.

The collision occurred at about 11:50 p.m. near a bridge on Washington Avenue and Brown Street, according to Murrieta police scanner reports.

Murrieta Fire Station No. 1 was among the area affected by the power outage. Dispatchers said they received numerous calls of power outages, but no outages were listed on the Southern California Edison website.

A driver of one of the vehicles, Shaun Baker, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, according to scanner reports. He ran away from officers who responded to the collision but was found after a short manhunt and tasered by officers.

No one was injured in the car crash.
