UPDATED: Three-Vehicle Crash in Menifee Kills One

The victim of the Friday night collision, a man, has not yet been identified.

UPDATE at 4:58 p.m.:  The Riverside coroner's office identified the man today who died in a fatal collision with a sport utility vehicle in Menifee.

Dionisio Lucero-Gonzalez, 27, of Moreno Valley, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision Friday night at Bundy Canyon Road, west of Wright Road, the Riverside County Coroner's Office reported.

Lucero-Gonzalez crossed into oncoming traffic in his sedan and plowed into a SUV, according to the coroner. The fatal crash was reported at 10:23 p.m. and involved two other vehicles.

It was not immediately known how the crash happened.

A woman from a second vehicle was taken to a hospital for minor injuries, but no one from the third vehicle was hurt, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man was killed and a woman suffered non-life threatening injuries during a three-vehicle collision in Menifee, authorities said today.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Bundy Canyon and Wright roads at 10:25 p.m. Friday, said Riverside County Sheriff's Department Deputy Michael Vasquez.

Officers arriving at the scene located two vehicles with major damage. A man in one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, said Menifee police Sgt. D. Payne.

A woman in another vehicle was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Payne said.

The third vehicle sustained only minor damage. There were no reports of injuries from any of the occupants in that car, he said.
