Three Drivers Arrested During DUI Detail

Murrieta police officers patrolled the city looking for impaired drivers Friday night.

Three drivers were arrested for suspicion of DUI during a roving saturation patrol in Murrieta Friday night that replaced a planned checkpoint that was cancelled because of rain, according to police.

Murrieta police officers participating in the saturation patrol were on the lookout for impaired drivers until 3 a.m. Citations were issued to an 18-year-old female for possessing an open container of alcohol while driving and a male juvenile for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, according to police.

Seven other vehicle-code citations were issued during the patrol, which was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
