Three Arrested at Friday-Night DUI Checkpoint

Law enforcement agencies are stepping up DUI details as the New Year’s holiday approaches.

Police officers conducting a DUI checkpoint in Temecula Friday night made three DUI arrests, according to Sgt. John Magnan.

The checkpoint operated at Old Town Front Street and Moreno Road between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. All of the 703 drivers that went through the checkpoint were screened by officers looking for signs of impairment and checking driver’s licenses, according to Magnan.

Officers directed 11 drivers to a secondary inspection area for further evaluation, according to Magnan. No citations were issued for driving without a license.

Friday night’s checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Did it ever occur to you that your attitude toward another person has a direcct effect on their attitude towards you?

Give us your papers or else! However, don't check my ID to ensure there is no voter fraud. Everything else is living in a police state. Bow down to the cops and continue to grow the Police state. Call a cop in Temecula and be prepared to wait an hour. This is a waste of resources. We need cops to respond to emergencies, not sit around and waste time. Maybe if the temecula city council would stop giving $4 million to Front Street Partners (Free Money) we would have money for true services in our town.

@TVOR Ahhh many scholars say there is no God! But does that make it so? There is a difference of what makes something righteous and what makes something legal. Our Fore Fathers knew the difference that the right thing outweighs the legal according to King George. May I suggest we focus on the freedoms our creator gave all of us!

That's all well and good pastor but our government can't (and shouldn't) make decisions based on any theological influence. In the US there is no recognized higher authority than the law
