Temecula Police Announce Plans for Upcoming DUI Checkpoint

Sheriff's deputies plan on keeping an eye out for drunken drivers in two weeks during a sobriety checkpoint in Temecula, a sergeant said Saturday.

Deputies will set up their operation at 9 p.m. June 21 at an undisclosed part of the city. The checkpoint will end at 3 a.m. the next day, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Joe Greco said.

Deputies plan on checking drivers for their licenses and watch for any signs of drunken driving, Greco said.

Add to Mike- you get in a car accident and the police respond and investigate. You get an accident report- does that generate revenue- only if you ask for another. Do they get a kick back when they call a paramedic to save you when you are dying? Do they get money when they inform your survivors you didn't make it.? Of course not- your view is narrow- broaden your thought process a bit.

As someone who owns and manages multiple properties in this area. I can tell you first hand, that police do nothing to stop graffiti, vandalism, and illegal dumping. I have had the same person writing graffiti all over one of my shopping centers for 2 + years. numerous calls on this issue have been a waste of time. 5 years ago we had someone do $35,000 worth of damage to one of our centers by etching their name in multiple windows. The Police did NOTHING!! I have caught numerous people illegally dumping on our private property, it often takes an officer 1-2 hours to respond when i call, and once again they do NOTHING!! I even had an officer blame me for not posting enough signs in one of our centers a few years back after I caught Wal Mart employees dumping 2 dozen Xmas trees in one of our dumpster areas. once AGAIN the police did NOTHING!! if it doesn't generate $, and help fund their public pension. They do NOT CARE!!

I'm talking about real issues I have dealt with on numerous occasions. NOT some hypothetical situation.

Well Mark s- if you are doing so well-maybe you should hire some security guards to protect your tenements . And we are terribly sorry it took hours to respond to your non violent crimes-lives of people are more important than property crimes. Christmas trees- are you serious. Are the Christmas trees being dumped on your property more important than someones life?. For you probably not. A very self centered old man.

Mark, I don't know what area you are speaking of but you do have a wide brush. Would you like the police to stake out a property you manage? Overall, what do you expect they do? Paint over the graffiti, haul away Christmas Trees, buy new windows? Take responsibility, install cameras, security lights, hire a security service as suggested. But please, unless you have been in Law Enforcement quit whining.
