Temecula PD Conducted 'Minor Decoy' Sting Operation, and These 8 Businesses Passed

Sheriff's officials report that everyone contacted in this latest operation passed the minor decoy test.

Temecula police recently conducted another minor decoy operation in town to determine if local stores would sell alcohol to those who are underage.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Chris Gaskins, all eight businesses that the department contacted on May 29 were found to comply with the law.

"The Temecula Police Department would like to congratulate the following on-sale / off-sale liquor establishments who refused service of alcohol to the decoys during this operation," Gaskins said in a press statement.

Here are the eight Temecula businesses that refused to sell to a minor:
  • The Beer and Wine Garden
  • Texas Lil’s Grill
  • The Edge Restaurant
  • The Bank Mexican Restaurant
  • Killarney’s Irish Pub
  • CVS – 31021 Temecula Parkway
  • Rite Aid – 31797 Temecula Parkway
  • CVS – 33205 Temecula Parkway
"The Temecula Police Department is conducting these alcohol-related compliance checks to reduce the availability of alcohol to minors in the community," the sergeant said.  "Statistics have shown that young people under the age of 21 have a higher rate of drunken driving fatalities than the general adult population."

The operation was funded through state and federal grants.

I like that they published those that passed the test! These businesses should be commended!

No, the businesses that did not fall for the decoy should not be commended as they were obeying the law and doing their job.

It would also be good to know who failed so we don't give them any business...
