Teen Suffers Traumatic Injuries in Murrieta Skateboard Accident

A teen suffered "multi-system" trauma and was alternating in and out of consciousness when paramedics found him.

A Murrieta teen was rushed to the hospital Wednesday following traumatic injuries suffered in a skateboarding accident.

The accident happened at about 6:35 p.m. near the intersection of Vineyard Parkway and Silverwood Street, south of Calle Del Oso Oro.

"An 18-year-old male rode his skateboard down a 300-foot driveway and was unable to stop," said Murrieta fire Capt. Red Martinez. "He flew across the street, hit the curb and flew approximately 25 to 30 feet down an embankment to where we found him."
