Suspect Sought in Purse Theft

The purse was allegedly taken Jan. 23 from an unlocked vehicle parked outside Walgreen's at 27714 Clinton Keith Road, according to Murrieta police.

Murrieta police are seeking to identify a man suspected of taking a purse outside a Murrieta pharmacy.

The man was allegedly seen on video surveillance opening the victim's car door at 8:58 a.m. Jan. 23 as it was parked outside

The purse was left on the front passenger side of the unlocked car, according to a flier posted on the Murrieta Police Department website.

Police said the suspect, described as a white male in his 20s, parked in a handicap stall next to the victim’s car and entered the store.

When he left the store, that is when police say surveillance shows he allegedly opened the front passenger door of the victim's car.

The man has a medium build, was wearing a black baseball cap with white stitching, a gray hoodie, black pants and black tennis shoes, according to the flier.

He was driving a dark blue or gray PT Cruiser, according to police.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect was asked to call Murrieta police Sgt. Phil Gomez at 951-461‐6356.
